An Evening of Circle Singing with Rebekkah Goldsmith
WHAT IS CIRCLE SINGING? "Circle Singing can be described lots of ways: vocal improvisation, vocal "jamming", add-a-part/change-a-part, vocal orchestra, "voicestra" as created by Bobby McFerrin, a "drum circle" for singers, or just plain "make it up" singing." SoVoSo website AN EVENING OF CIRCLE SINGING! Ever wish you could snap your fingers and be singing lush harmonies or cool rhythms (maybe even soloing a little) in a room full of voices? "But that kind of thing takes time, Rebekka! I need to find a choir, maybe even audition, practice...not to mention the music skills involved!" Ah, the beauty of Circle Singing! This "spontaneous choir" is perfect for the beginner and confident singer alike. Led by Seattle-based vocal improviser Rebekka Goldsmith, be prepared to share in an evening of spontaneous music inspired by the people in the room! No Circle Singing experience necessary-come out of curiosity or because you already know how great Circle Singing can be! Rebekka Goldsmith teaches vocal improvisation throughout the United States and Canada as a technique for developing music skills, personal intuition, risk-taking, and creative capacity. She has studied improvisation for many years and taught with master vocal improviser, Rhiannon. Rebekka is a Level III certified instructor of Somatic Voicework, the LoVetri Method. She lives in Seattle where she directs The Path with Art Singers and has a full private vocal coaching practice. http://www.rebekkagoldsmith.com/
