halie and the moon: debut EP release concert, benefitting WOMENSPACE (at First Christian Church in downtown Eugene)
The original music of halie and the moon traverses themes of dreamscapes, love, mystery, and celestial images. Each song is brought to life by lush vocals wrapped in the warmth of cello and acoustic guitar, lifted by lyrical and powerful rhythms, building texture-rich layers and stripping them away to create worlds within worlds of sound.
They will be releasing their first EP, "Blue Transmissions: vol. 1", this November, and will be celebrating with a live concert event at First Christian Church in Eugene, OR on November 14th. This event is a benefit for local charity WOMENSPACE, with proceeds going toward prevention of domestic violence in Lane County, OR.
The concert start-time is 7 pm, with doors opening at 6:30 pm. Tickets may also be purchased at the door, though advance purchase is highly recommended. halie and the moon's EP will be for sale, and there will be light refreshments available.
About halie and the moon:
halie and the moon was formed over the last few years as the relationships of its members grew organically out of the Eugene music scene. Vocalist/songwriter/pianist Halie Loren and songwriter/guitarist Daniel Gallo began collaborating three years ago (as long-time admirers of each other's musical work). They quickly linked up with drummer Beau Eastlund and bassist Bobby Stevens, both having performed with Daniel in local bands Concrete Loveseat and My Father's Ghost, respectively. In the midst of the foursome beginning work on their first recording project last fall, they crossed paths with cellist/vocalist Katherine Dudney last fall, who happened to be the perfect fifth element for The Moon. The group is excited to release their first EP this November, with more recordings already in the works for the near future.
