Tangerines - CMF11
(Estonia, 2013, drama, 86 min., R) Set in 1992, during the growing conflict between Georgia and Abkhazian separatists in the wake of the Soviet Union dissolution, two Estonian immigrant farmers remain in George to harvest their tangerine crop -- a move which results in two wounded soldiers from opposing sides landing under their care. Nominated for an Oscar and Golden Globe. Winner at six film festivals. "Though about war and peace, this is also good, old-fashioned storytelling with a high level of craftsmanship" -- David Lewis, San Francisco Chronicle
