WPKN's CARS AND GUITARS (Road & Tracks III) in Westport, CT Saturday October 24th
CARS and GUITARS is a new event created by WPKN 89.5-FM, a nonprofit community radio station. It is part of our series called Road & Tracks (and this is now our 3rd event).
It takes place in Westport, Connecticut at one of the Northeast's most unique classic car emporiums: Dragone Classic Motorcar Gallery. It will be held in a large tent and in the indoor showroom as well.
CARS AND GUITARS kicks off at 9am with a drop-in vintage and classic car show involving area car clubs and associations. The public is invited to attend with their automobiles as well. WPKN's weekly car show THE CAR BOB SHOW is coordinating the car event and will broadcast their show live from 9am to 12noon over WPKN 89.5-FM (streams at wpkn.org)
At noon there will be LIVE music from four bands and WPKN DJ's spinning between sets in the massive tent.
Indoors in the gallery will be the The Dragone Antique Radio Collection as well as a collection from the Vintage Hi-Fi Museum and a special guitar collection from the National Guitar Museum.
The bands are:
GENE CASEY from Long Island with his americana/roots music
DOUG WAHLBERG BAND from Connecticut with rock
CLARENCE SPADY BLUES BAND from Pennsylvania (NE Blues Hall of Fame band!)
THE LORD CALVERTS from Brooklyn, New York with an original sound that merges garage and power pop with B-52's-like styling.
WPKN DJs will spin between sets.
Food trucks and food provided by: TACO LOCO and Bobby Q's Bodacious BBQ & Grill.
