HerniO: Stories of Strains (11-14)
A man with a moniker and a dream, Oron previously performed "Minne-O-polis" at BLB and returns with his new one-man show "HerniO: Stories of Strains." Oron will be exploring physical strains, emotional strains, and political strains through songs and stories spanning composers as varied as Taylor Swift, Cy Coleman and Maltby/Shire, and characters including presidential candidate Deez Nuts and Kentucky County Clerk Kim Davis. The incomparable Joey Clark joins on piano.
Oron Stenesh, Producer and Performer Oron created MINNE-O-POLIS at Bryant Lake Bowl, THE BIG 3-O (MAC Award Nominee 2011), THE O TRAIN and OLECTION at New York's Duplex, and toured OLECTION to Chicago's Davenport's Piano Bar. Theatre credits include the South Korean Tour of FAME (Schlomo), Off-Broadway's A STOOP ON ORCHARD STREET (Sam), MIKE MULLIGAN AND HIS STEAM SHOVEL (Theatreworks/USA National Tour), BABES IN TOYLAND (Lincoln Center), FAR AWAY (New York Theatre Workshop), A CHRISTMAS CAROL (McCarter Theatre). Oron has also dabbled on the silver screen, as Walt, the orderly, on ABC's ONE LIFE TO LIVE. He is a graduate of Northwestern University's Theatre and Musical Theatre programs, attended the 2007 Cabaret Conference at Yale University, and is a proud member of MAC, AEA, AFTRA, and TCCAN the Twin Cities Cabaret Artists' Network.
Joey Clark, Musical Director Joey works throughout the Twin Cities as a performer, director, musical director and teaching artist. His performance credits include Park Square Theatre and Theatre Mu's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC; Bloomington Civic Theatre's SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE (George) and CABARET (Emcee); and, LET'S KEEP DANCING (an original cabaret produced by MacPhail Center for Music and Nautilus Music Theatre). Past credits include Theatre Latte Da's THE FULL MONTY; Frank Theater's CABARET; and a multitude of cabaret performances at the Bryant Lake Bowl. Joey chairs the musical theatre department at Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists (SPCPA). When not teaching the younger generation, Joey is leading music groups at senior residences throughout the metro through MacPhail Center for Music's "Music for Life" Program.
