The Bolting Brassicas Marching Band are the Balkan Gypsy Klezmer Marching Brass Band from Lasqueti Island, a remote community where long rainy nights sipping nettle tea give birth to crazy circus musicians and foot-stomping melodies! http://www.boltingbrassicas.ca/
Orkestar Zirkonium is Seattle's favorite brass band, drawing from Eastern European / Roma brass, klezmer, Bollywood soundtracks, Ethiopian jazz, punk, funk, hiphop, and other musical idioms. http://www.orkestarzirkonium.com/
On Victoria, BC's Balkan marching trombone, violin, accordion, tuba, drum and bass lineup: "Bučan Bučan doesn't spend much time on the stage, instead they prefer to meander through the crowd, delighting the audience with their rambunctious rhythms, bouncy brass and old world style." Mary Ellen Green - Monday Magazine http://bucanbucan.tumblr.com/
Orkestar Slivovica has been performing and producing community-Balkan-song-and-dance parties for 3 years, learning one new Balkan song every month. They host a monthly Slivovica Social Club, where dancing on tables and sing-a-long balkan songs are the standard. They are joined this year by master trumpeter from Serbian, Demiran Cerimovic!
Luciterra Tribal Bellydancers are delighting audiences with their incredibly novel dance styles. Hard-hitting and dynamic, this powerful quartet works their magic at music events, major festivals, and underground parties across the West Coast and beyond. They perform regularly with Orkestar Slivovica and circus host Chris Murdoch. www.luciterradance.com
Gradina Dance Troupe and Vuk Karadzic Youth Dance Ensemble have been performing in the Lower Mainland for many years, dancing at many folk festivals and private parties. Question: |
How does one purchase a ticket for two nights? The option doesn't exist, i.e. one has to purchase them separately and not at the discounted $36 price |
Answer: |
There was a limited number of 2-day tickets and they have sold out. You can still buy them separately, though Saturday tickets are almost sold out too. |
