SLOW U: Foraging in Prospect Park with Extreme Locavore, Leda Meredith
SLOW U: Foraging in Prospect Park with Extreme Locavore, Leda Meredith Prospect Park, Brooklyn Brooklyn, NY
Come learn about wild, edible plants growing in our own backyard, Prospect Park, with extreme Locavore, Leda Meredith. Rain or shine, we'll go foraging with Leda and then make our way to SFNYC Snail of Approval winning restaurant, Beer Table, to taste some of what Leda had foraged previously and enjoy special beers selected for the occasion by Beer Table owner, Justin Philips. Autographed copies of Leda's book, "The Locavore's Handbook," will be available. Beverages at Beer Table are not included in the ticket price.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the activities of Slow Food NYC, including the Urban Harvest programs of good food education for NYC kids.
Note: We will meet at the Grand Army Plaza entrance to Prospect Park at 2:00 pm, rain or shine, on Sunday, July 15th. Please be on time, so as to not cut into our foraging time. We'll wrap up at Beer Table at 4:00 pm for beer and a locavore snack. Beverages at Beer Table are not included in the ticket price.
