Camaro 67 live at The Hindenburg
Vancouver's newest 10 piece afrofunk band is coming to the Hindenburg (23 W Cordova) on Friday November 6th with their friends Bazooka Picnic and DJ Ollstar.
Camaro 67 was formed following the disbandement of the afrobeat group Miami Device. With heavy driven horns atop syncopated guitars and layered percussion they produce a dance inducing, highly energetic live show. The band draws its influenced from the likes of Fela Kuti, Antibalas, The Budos Band, and The Herbalizer.
The band boasts an incredible roster of local talent including members of Five Alarm Funk, Rude City Riot, The Washboard Union, The Matinee, and The Carnival Band. Camaro 67's live show is a truly memorable experience. An incredibly unique sound and an energetic live show keeps venues packed to the brim and fans consistently coming back again and again.
Bazooka Picnic Formed in Vancouver, Bazooka Picnic is a bombastic, horn driven, jazz funk ensemble! Inspired by Scofield, Lettuce and The Roots, this eclectic groove is gonna make you move in ways unimagined! Bazooka Picnic features musicians from Five Alarm Funk, The Ponderosas, Bananafish Dance Orchestra, and Giraffe Aftermath as well as Vancouver's very own Eli Bennett on tenor sax. Nothing but groove all night!
DJ Ollstar plays the funkiest soul, disco, house, hip hop, and electronic music around.
