Record Store Day 2012 Aftershow Party
To celebrate Record Store Day 2012, Edinburgh's foremost record shop Avalanche has teamed up with local promoter the Tidal Wave of Indifference to create a unique event at the city's Electric Circus.
Once that final piece of rare vinyl has found a happy home and the last guitar string has been plucked in the shop, Avalanche Records will be taking the festivities to one of the city's top music venues for a very special evening of live music.
Topping the bill will be Aberfeldy's Star Wheel Press, playing their biggest capital headline show to date, having been Avalanche's biggest success story of the last year.
Their debut album, the Life Cycle of a Falling Bird has practically flown off the shelves down at the Grassmarket. But they remain one of the best kept secrets in Scottish music, despite their folk-influenced brand of Americana winning them many fans, including Ian Rankin and Lauren Laverne.
Joining Star Wheel Press will be an array of acts who, over the years, have had a helping hand from Avalanche, but also kept a close relationship with one of the city's key cultural institutions 'friends of Avalanche' if you will. We'll tell you more about what's lined up in due course.....
