The American Boychoir in collaboration with the Northwest Boychoir Presents: How Can I Keep From Singing?
The American Boychoir, the world renowned vocal ensemble of the Princeton, NJ-based American Boychoir School, has been heralded as one of the nation's premiere musical ensembles. Its mission is to sustain and move forward with a "distinctively American voice" the one-thousand-year-old boychoir school tradition.
The program, How Can I Keep From Singing?, showcases the versatility of the American Boychoir's tour choir with selections ranging from Mendelssohn and Samuel Barber to folksongs from around the world to traditional American hymns and spirituals. The title of the program comes from James Q. Mulholland's How Can I Keep From Singing, whose lyrics embody the mission of the American Boychoir: though the world may be full of troubles, music is more powerful, and nothing will stop the students in the American Boychoir from raising their voices in song.
The American Boychoir is delighted to be joining voices with the Northwest Boychoir for this evening's performance.
