ABOUT HOMEGROWN THEATER
HomeGrown Theater (homegrowntheater.com) is establishing its presence in the Boise community by focusing on LOCAL: Local actors, local playwrights, local carpenters, architects, photographers, artists and designers. Our hope is to utilize all the wonderful talent that is present within the surrounding area.
HomeGrown Theater's goal is to produce three main stage productions a year, supported by a monthly reading series called BLiP (plays in a BLiP of time). Our show selection for our main stage shows focuses on local playwrights or uncommon productions/themes produced in Boise.
In BLiP, we choose a new playwright each month and exhibit our local actors in a reading of the play. This takes place at local bookstore Hyde Park Books, owned by Jem Wierenga, the last Tuesday of every month. If you're interested in submitting a play, e-mail Artistic Director Janessa Nichole White at homegrowntheater@gmail.com.
