Tea Time & Dessert with Author Alice Medrich, Sinfully Easy Delicious Desserts
Come attend an afternoon "Tea Time & Dessert Tasting" at Book Fare Café on the mezzanine level of Village Books and listen to Alice Medrich talk about her latest baking cookbook, "Sinfully Easy Delicious Desserts." Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee while sampling a variety of Alice's baked goods featured from her book, prepared by Book Fare Café's chef/owner Charles Claassen.
"Sinfully Easy Delicious Desserts" is a baking cookbook full of easy, inventive recipes for home cooks who can't be bothered with special equipment or fussy, time-consuming procedures. Alice Medrich, often referred to as the First Lady of Chocolate, has won more Cookbook-of-the-Year and Best-in-Category Awards than any other author. Her signature inventiveness shines in these fresh new ideas for one-bowl cakes, press-in crusts, and all-ingredients-into-the-food-processor preparations. Recipes include Stout Floats, Cinnamon Toast Croutons as a topping for ice cream sundaes, and, of course, plenty of her signature chocolate.
Alice Medrich received her formal training at the prestigious Ecole Lenotre in France, and is widely credited with introducing the chocolate truffle to the United States when she began selling them at her influential dessert shop, Cocolat. Having sold her retail business, she currently devotes much of her time to teaching and sharing her expansive knowledge of baking. The author, most recently of "Chewy Gooey Crispy Crunchy" and "Pure Dessert," lives in Berkeley, California.
