Dinner Conversation: Oak Hill Farm
18 Reasons Dinner Conversation: Oak Hill Farm Wednesday, April 25, 7-9PM, Ticketed $25 member price; $35 general admission Ticket prices includes meal, wine pairing & tip.
Join 18 Reasons and young farmers David and Stacey from Oak Hill Farm for the latest in our Dinner Conversation Series. We will sit down with farmers from Oak Hill to talk about farming lifestyle, especially why some young people (like them) are ditching the conventional career route and choosing farming as an alternative.
David's tentatively titled his talk "Why I Traded my 9 to 5 for a 5 to 9" and will be talking about leaving his advanced degree, career-path, urban life for something more meaningful to him. Stacey will talk about the ins and outs, the ups and downs of farming -- and what it means for them as a young couple to have made this choice. They will also talk about farming practices, the history of the farm and what they grow. All over wine and a vegetarian meal highlighting their beautiful produce.
See what Oak Hill Farm has to say about themselves:
Oak Hill Farm of Sonoma is 45 acres of productive farmland set on 700 acres of protected wildlands nestled against the western slope of the Mayacamas Mountains in Glen Ellen, California.
We have been growing flowers and produce using sustainable agricultural practices for more than 50 years, and in this temperate Mediterranean climate we are privileged to grow more than 200 varieties of flowers, shrubs, orchard fruit, herbs, and field-grown fruits and vegetables.
Oak Hill Farm of Sonoma is dedicated to providing the freshest, most delectable fruits, vegetables and flowers possible, all of which have been grown using methods that promote health and well-being in the soil, in the environment, and in our communities.
