Women of '69, Unboxed
An intimate, personalized portrait of a group of women who came of age during the turbulent, exhilarating 1960s. Their story is told through the eyes of one colorful class who, having turned 65, set out to explore her "new old age." It is a time of life when some of these Baby Boomers, now officially senior citizens, are feeling their "third wind" and are determined to keep making waves. Their stories revolve around revelations and reminiscences found in the class yearbook. Each of their photographic portraits was made through collaboration with an artist and they ooze rebelliousness and creativity. The film title comes from the fact that the yearbook in question was not a yearbook at all, but photos stored in a box.
