Old Newcastle tour (November) - with Iles Tours
How well do you really know Newcastle?...
Newcastle Castle is partnering with Iles Tours to present the Old Newcastle tour: a monthly guided walk, taking place the first Saturday of every month (from November 2015 through till February 2016).
Price of ticket includes admission to Newcastle Castle on the day of the tour.
Setting off from the Black Gate (the ancient barbican of the Castle), the hour-long taster-tour will explore the sights and sounds of Newcastle's medieval heart. The route takes in the grand architecture of St Nicholas Cathedral, along with infamous stories of revelry in the Bigg Market and the Victorian trailblazers that met at the Literary and Philosophical Society.
Iles Tours was launched in 2013 by Alexander Iles to inform and educate people about the city, and was Highly Commended at the 2014 North East Tourism Awards. Historical, Cultural and Gory tours are available, setting off daily from Grey's Monument. A joint ticket for Newcastle Castle / Iles Tours has been launched, so visitors can enjoy one of these full-length tours alongside a visit to the city's ancient namesake (see www.ilestours.co.uk/bookings for further details).
