RHINESTONE COWGIRL- A TRIBUTE TO DOLLY PARTON
LEISA WAY SINGS DOLLY PARTON
Leisa was born in Kitchener and raised in Sudbury. The Maritimes feels like 'home' to Leisa as she began her professional career performing as "Anne" in Anne of Green Gables, a role she played for six seasons at the Charlottetown Festival, including tours of Canada, the USA & Japan, taping for CBC Radio, filming for television, & 3 performances for the British Royal Family. Since then her career has taken her to more than 50 countries, and she has performed at major theatres in Canada and the US in roles such as Billie Dawn in Born Yesterday; Guenevere in Camelot; Peter in Peter Pan (Canada and U.S); I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change! (U.S.A National off-Broadway tour); Magnolia in Showboat; Maria in The Sound of Music; Dave Carley's Test Drive, Judy Garland in the musical drama End of the Rainbow, and six productions each of Norm Foster's The Long Weekend, and The Love List. Seven years ago Leisa began producing concerts, beginning with Sweet Dreams, a hugely successful show that has now played at over 50 theatres in Canada. Next came Rhinestone Cowgirl (Dolly Parton), Country Jukebox (Duets); You Give Me Fever (Peggy Lee), Wichita Lineman: The Music of Glen Campbell, and this year Leisa debuts two new concerts, Oh, Canada, We Sing For Thee and Have Yourself a Swinging Little Country Christmas.
