Join Join 18 Reasons and the Greenhorns for a film screening, discussion panel and farmer mixer over delicious locally-produced food, drink and live music. Building on the success of "The Greenhorns," her first documentary film about the hustle and entrepreneurial spirit of young American farmers, director Severine von Tscharner Fleming and teammates Jordan Kinley and Lucas Patzek happily announce the premiere of a new film project: Our Land.
Our Land is a series of web films about the opportunities and players who are reorienting agriculture and confronting broken systems with brave and successful businesses. Each episode in the series introduces us to a practical protagonist in the new economy.
We will be screening the first three episodes from Our Land series that tackle these topics: soil testing to reappropriate abandoned urban spaces; a regionally specific and adaptive seed company; the security and support that comes from a small organic food distribution company.
The Greenhorns is also a grassroots non-profit organization with a growing network of over 8,000 young and beginning farmers across America. Headquartered in Hudson, NY, we are happy to work nationally.
After the film we will invite director Severine von Tscharner Fleming, Paula Manalo from Mendocino Organics in Redwood Valley and Brooke Budner farmer for Little City Farmers in San Francisco to speak on a panel surrounding the issues in the film.
