Listening In with Orlando Lara
This class will help you connect with your scene partner by playing off each other. Everything you're going to need for the scene is right there in your partner. Every tick and mannerism that happens on stage has a story and should be explored. Everything is important. This class will help you play real and grounded in the world that you've created, regardless of how ridiculous that world is. It will also help you agree with your partner and not be scared to go down the rabbit hole together.
The Instructor: Orlando Lara Orlando has only been improvising for three years, but it's been pretty non-stop. After I he graduated from the iO Training Center, he was placed on the Harold team, ButchMAX. From there Orlando was moved to The Baby Kings. After a year of being on a team, he auditioned his way onto a new team, Stuntman CD-ROM, which Orlando is currently still on. He have been on the independent team 98.6 for more than two-and-a-half years where they run and play a showcase every Monday and Tuesday night at the Underground Lounge. Aside from these two teams, Orlando has played all around the Chicagoland area with various groups, including but not limited to: McGarnackle, My Summer Girl, Trust, Tons of Fun and Tex Winter Presents: The Triangle Offense. Orlando has been experimenting with sketch material with his writing partner Shannon Noll in DOS.
