Palaver is a singer-and-piano duo consisting of St. Louis artists Steve Carosello of The Love Experts and Charlie Brumley of The Educated Guess.

For several years, Charlie and Steve had been pondering different contexts in which they could work together, when Charlie had the bright idea of streamlining it down to the essentials. He sent Steve a batch of songs from which he was to select some candidates that seemed to be well-suited for such a project and, after one rehearsal, they both knew they had finally arrived at the solution. They now plan for this to be an ongoing collaboration that will change or evolve in ways that will hopefully occur just as naturally and rewardingly.

Nick Rudd has been playing and composing music for over 35 years, and continues to explore new avenues and genres to challenge him. Based in Champaign/Urbana, he has appeared many times in St. Louis with his various band incarnations, most recently The Jans Project. This will be his first ever solo recital in our city of his superb guitar instrumentals.
