"SKIN DEEP"
Writer/Performer: Chelsea Hackett Directors: Heather Lanza and Dianna Garten
We are bombarded everyday with thousands of messages telling us to change our bodies. To make parts of us smaller, parts of us bigger; some things lighter, some things darker. To pluck this, extend that, tighten this, loosen that, twist this, straighten that all resulting in a culture of people who look in the mirror and can only see the things they want to change. Skin Deep is a humorous and endearing look at this personal journey through the eyes of easily relatable and truly human characters. It asks its audience the question:
"What would you change, not about your body, but about the way you see it?"

Emerging Artists returns with their one-of-a-kind festival. Visit the theater any evening during this three-week event, and you'll find yourself transported in a number of surprising ways: by a single performer embodying a whole host of characters; by a more experimental theater piece "done differently" that challenges and delights; by a cozy two-person show exploring relationships; or perhaps by a bouncy new musical that will have you humming. Emerging Artists has always been about new works, new talents, new voices. That's never been more evident than now.
