Violins In Wartime
Violins in Wartime provides a portrait of Israeli life rarely seen in the media. Against the backdrop of the second Lebanon War (Summer 2006), world class soloists Ida Haendel and Maestro Shlomo Mintz come to Israel to teach a group of young soloists from all over the world a violin master course. Amnon Weinstein the Violin maker is the main character of the film. They are all committed to keep on playing, maintaining sanity through music. The violin becomes a symbol for the Jewish-Israeli narrative and resilience to carry on against all odds.
