Rebelution first united in Santa Barbara and created their sound from a wide array of musical backgrounds. With Reggae as the focus, the group set out to create a sweet and vibrant sound which they dub California Reggae. To Rebelution, California Reggae symbolizes their appreciation for several musical styles, from past pioneers to present-day icons.
In the past year Rebelution has continued to make a name for themselves with the success of their first full length album "Courage to Grow" and by performing with artists like Barrington Levy, Israel Vibration, Don Carlos, Pepper, Eek-A-Mouse, Pato Banton, Tanya Stephens, Half Pint, SOJA, Yellowman, Talib Kweli, E-40, and The Pharcyde. Rebelution has proven themselves in the musical arena and will further expand their audience and success with a sound that confidently claims itself unique.Their 2007 album "Courage to Grow" was recorded at the legendary Prairie Sun Studios in Northern California, and was mixed and mastered by sound guru Jim Fox of Lion Fox Studios in Washington D.C. "Courage to Grow" is now available on Cdbaby.com, iTunes, Sony Connect, GreatIndie.com and more. It has been a top-10 staple on the iTunes Reggae chart since its release.
