The Deadly Winters: Table In The Corner EP Launch
The Deadly Winters bring to the stage an emotive musicality that goes beyond an ordinary performance. The well-constructed melodies and songs of stories allow each song and performance to relate to and involve the listener and audience.
BBC Radio One, Radio Scotland (Roddy Hart, Tom Morton and Iain Anderson's shows), Mike Harding's Folk Show and pioneering Scottish DJ Jim Gellatly are all champions of the band having play-listed and reviewed previous releases. The Ters' have raised people's awareness and expectations of how Folk-Music continues to advance with the times.
The band enjoy their time on stage and they look to bring everyone along on the journey with them. They have shared stages with lauded Scottish singer/songwriter Dougie Maclean and The Staves and have appeared at Celtic Connections, Perthshire Amber (Dougie MacLean Festival), Bannockburn Live 2014, Edinburgh's St Andrew's Day 2013 and numerous times at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Since 2011 the band have released 2 albums, a single and an EP. A new 4 song EP, "Table In The Corner" will be released worldwide on 6 November 2015.
We are delighted to announce that joining us on the night will be Scott Longmuir. Scott is lead singer/songwriter of established Edinburgh indie folk band The Last Battle. Drawing on a wide range of influences from Teenage Fanclub to Orange Juice, Nick Drake to King Creosote, he writes personal/confessional songs with pop hooks and melodies that have a knack of lodging themselves in your brain.
Grampa are a new band comprising of an amalgam of established Edinburgh musicians, 'Grampa's' unique blend of euphoric electro-indie-pop-rock should certainly blow the froth of your ovaltine and rattle your dentures. This exciting mix is presented by Fraser Fulton (ex Victorian Trout Conspiracy/Clog and The Quirks) Matt Dunn (Sleekit Beasties/Precious and Grace) Rowan Wood (Clog and The Quirks/Mad Tango) and Neil Reynolds (Beckett/The Ran). This hybrid ensemble shall be performing for your delectation at various taverns and emporiums across Scotland's central belt, the Highlands and lots of bits that used to be pink on the map.
