Evening @ the Barn: Movie Star Homes
Author Michael Oldham, writer of "Movie Star Homes the Famous to the Forgotten," "More Hollywood Homes," and "Greetings from Beverly Hills" will be the guest speaker for the May "Evening @ the Barn." A visual presentation on the homes of the stars, from Gloria Swanson's 1918 Hollywood bungalow to Brad Pitt's Beverly Hills estate, will be shown, displaying the extravagant, lavish, and eccentric residences of the rich and famous, including how the home looks today. Mr. Oldham also is the co-author of "Palm Springs in Vintage Postcards."
LA Times Magazine labeled Artunian and Oldham the "Lewis & Clark of the Celebrity Domicile." The pair's star homes presentation will encompass the so-called Dream Palaces of the silent days to the modern-mansions era of today, from the likes of Charles Chaplin to Sylvester Stallone and the many between them. Featured along with the authors' exclusive home photo collection, will be postcard, vintage, and then/now views of star residences. This special pictorial tour will include many of the authors' entertaining insights and well-researched facts about each of the featured stars and their homes.
