Join us for Pike Place Market's official one-hour historical tour filled with intriguing tales! At 104 years old, Pike Place Market is the oldest continuously operating market in the United States. The original Starbucks and Sur La Table stores can be found here, as well as the world famous fish throwing Pike Place Fish boys. It is also home to more than 200 year-round commercial businesses; 190 craftspeople; and approximately 100 farmers who rent table space by the day; 240 street performers and musicians; and more than 300 apartment units, most of which provide housing for low-income elderly people. Your tour will take you inside the main thoroughfares of the Pike Place Market, as well as the Lower Levels where hidden treasures await. Enjoy the sights, smells, and sounds that make up this iconic landmark! 10% of all ticket sales go to benefit the Pike Place Market Foundation. They support four social service agencies for low-income and elderly residents of downtown Seattle, including a medical center, food bank, senior center, and childcare center.
Fun things you will learn on this tour: - What stinky onions had to do with the start of the Market in 1907 - Why craftspeople are in different locations every day - What Seattle loves pigs!
Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, as your space is being guaranteed on the tour. No refunds for no shows.
