Ah vive l'amour!
The Lycée Français La Pérouse and the French American Cultural Society are pleased to present an operatic recital given by the French soprano Antonia Denavit accompanied by her pianist Kerrilyn Renshaw. The program of this concert will alternately highlight the melancholic, spiritual, dramatic and entertaining aspects of French songs and French operatic arias from great composers of the 19th and 20th century such as Ravel, Poulenc, Gounod, Bizet and Offenbach... Antonia Denavit is a French soprano who discovered her talent for singing while earning her MBA at Portland State University in Oregon. Antonia Denavit worked, with Nathalie Foucher at the Conservatory of Music of Melun where she graduated with honors in 2009. While at the Conservatory, she performed several roles in both operas and musicals. Her signature operatic roles - performed on stage - include Countess Almaviva in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro, Pamina in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata, Antonia in Offenbach's Les Contes d'Hoffmann and Diane in Offenbach's Orphee aux Enfers with the Melun Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Didier Hu. In addition to operas, Antonia Denavit has performed oratorios such as Vivaldi's Magnificat, Bach's Magnificat and Faure's Requiem.
