Two Sides of the Classical Guitar David Bullard and Brian Cullen
Brian Cullen has been playing and teaching the classical guitar for 30 years. He is originally from South Africa and was founder of the Durban Classical Guitar Society in South Africa. He graduated from Trinity College of London in guitar performance and music theory. He studied with Narciso Yepes and his student Fritz Buss, Professor of guitar at University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg SA and also studied at the Len Williams Classical Guitar School in London. www.cullenclassicalguitar.com/ Brian's program will feature some of the well known and loved classical guitar pieces such as Spanish folk song(Romance),Cavatina(Deerhunter Theme),Recuerdos de la Alhambra, Asturias (Leyenda) Variations on the Magic Flute(Mozart) Fernando Sor, Bach preludes and music of Brazilian composer Villa Lobos. A USA premiere of contemporary music by an English guitarist/composer, Bossa-nova,Tango.Beatle instrumental solos and favourites such as Classical Gas and Anji. David's program will feature mainly his own compositions for solo acoustic guitar. From growing up in the Southwestern Mountains to his current home in New England, David looks back on 20 years of road dust and will "pick " from his goldmine of experiences for his songs. David Bullard, a native of California, has played his own songs across America for 20 years, from Roadhouses to Coffee Houses and from concerts to Atlantic Songwriter Association shows. David has written and performed in Nashville, Atlanta, Denver, and ski towns such as Steamboat Springs, Colorado where he got his first steady job at the age of 17 playing music for the Sheraton Resort at the base of famous Mt.
