Michael Gallant Trio
Critically acclaimed New York musician, composer, and producer Michael Gallant breaks the rules of the traditional piano trio format, melding elements as diverse as jazz and grunge rock and often jamming on electric keyboard and acoustic piano at the same time during his exhilarating live shows.
Gallant returns to the Bay area in support of his second trio album "Live Plus One," due to be released on October 9, 2015. A former resident of San Francisco during his five-year tenure as an editor at Keyboard magazine, Gallant reunites with old musical compatriots Andrew Higgins (bass) and Deszon Claiborne (drums) for this performance.
Gallant's compositions and playing are featured in the major motion picture "About Ray," starring Susan Sarandon and released by the Weinstein Company on September 18. He also recently contributed to the album "Winds of Samsara," which won a Grammy Award in 2015.
