EMERALD RIDGE HIGH SCHOOL 2015 FALL PLAY
THE LARAMIE PROJECT is a piece of documentary theatre that chronicles a wide range of responses to the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay student at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. Created out of over 200 interviews with people who lived through or were affected by this tragedy, this play uses real people's real words to shed light on how individuals and communities respond in the most difficult of situations. Emphasizing the importance of acceptance and social justice, THE LARAMIE PROJECT challenges us to engage in the ongoing coversation about what equality really means.
This play is not intended for young audiences. It contains language and situations that are most suitable for audience members fourteen years and older.
