Music & Magick: Sound, Emotion & Energy
Sound and song are magic. Music is present in literally everything - from the tiniest atom to the busiest planet. Music has the power to heal or to conjure; to stoke the fire of revolution; to ease the passing of those in pain. But how do we find the magic of music within ourselves, especially if we've never tried to find it before? What is it, for instance, that makes a lullaby work? What makes music tick?
Join Pagan singer-songwriter S. J. Tucker as she teaches her own "default settings" for musical energy work. No previous singing experience is necessary. Exploring improvisationally, we will do easy stretching and warm-ups to relax the face and shoulders and center voice and body. This is followed by basic energy work, focusing on energy exercises with your voice to move energy and shift the mood of the room.
In this workshop, participants will raise their awareness of the power of sound and music in the world around them increase confidence in their ability to utilize music as a source of energy deepen their understanding of their personal relationship with music come away with their lives changed and their hearts lifted Please wear comfortable clothing for movement, and bring a notebook to jot down thoughts and impressions. Preregistration required. Class size is limited so please register early.
