Artists Disabling Assumptions Performances
The 2:00 pm family-friendly performance features artists in all performance genres. The 2:00 pm performance will feature a reprise performance of the popular musical, "Buzz," script and concept by Sara Pillatzki-Warzeha and Michelle Pillatzki Ahmed, with music and lyrics by Lauren Mikeal Weber. Directed by Sara Pillatzki-Warzeha, and performed by the Northfield Arts Guild's A+ Art Club and special guests Sara Pillatzki-Warzeha, Brian Warzeha, Ryan Puffer; and a brand-new theater piece by the ArtMakers Group, featuring Andrew Rossow and friends. In addition, the performance will feature several dance pieces, including a new piece by Kathleen Pender (featuring Minneapolis dancers Cary Bittinger and Angelique Lele), a new duet by Cary Bittinger and Angelique Lele, another dance piece by the Baile Folklórico Mexicano dance group of the Northfield Arts Guild (featuring Ana Baez Toquillas, Atia Cole, Liana Cole, and Kate Stuart), and two pieces dance by Emma Hilson and Michael Cohn.

The 7:30 pm "for mature audiences" performances will dive into often hidden narratives of the disability experience, including relationships, romance, and sex. The evening will open with music by Brian Evans, followed by a hip-hop dance led by Jason Noer. The first half will close with narrative performing artist Alison Bergblom Johnson's piece, "An Open Letter to the Men of Craigslist." The second half will feature storyteller Amy Salloway and end with Michael Cohn's dance piece, "3 Different Views on Life." Michael says this about his closing piece: "It's about taking charge of one's life and not letting disability get in way of becoming independent. Showing the world the it is ok  the laugh at people with disabilities."

Access accommodations, such as ASL interpretation, assistive listening devices, large print programs, and audio description, will be available for both ADA Retrospective performances. No reservations are necessary.
