STSCA Navruz Celebration
Come join the Seattle-Tashkent Sister City Association in celebrating Navruz, the Central Asian New Year, in the North Seattle Community College cafeteria. Enjoy fresh plov (Uzbekistan's most famous dish), somsa (similar to Indian samosas), Uzbek bread, and other traditional dishes. Listen to Uzbek and Central Asian music, watch colorful dance, puppet, and fashion show performances. Win lovely Central Asian prizes in our raffle! This is a family-friendly event, and will feature a children's corner with cake decorating and a Navruz art project.
This is a potluck, with guests encouraged to bring desserts and/or traditional Central Asian dishes. If you bring a dessert or national dish that serves at least six people, you will receive $5 off your ticket price. Please note that if you plan to bring a dish, you should wait to buy your ticket on-site at the event.
