Northwest Repertory Singers: Past Life Melodies
This concert is a collaboration with the Tacoma Youth Chorus, Judith Herrington and George Guenther, conductors. Our 2006 collaboration with this marvelous organization was so rewarding that we could not wait to share our music once again. The musical theme of the evening is music from our past: folk songs, spirituals, hymns, and tunes that remind us of our youth and journey through life. Each ensemble will present an individual set of pieces and then all singers will combine for a finish you will not want to miss. Highlights include music from Aboriginal chant, harmonic overtone singing, and the artistic blending of an Estonian folk song and an American spiritual.
