Robin Hood - Men in Tights
Wyvern Players is presenting a modern British pantomime but still holding to many of the traditional ways of pantomime.
Pantomime (informally panto) has its origins in England and is a type of musical comedy designed for family entertainment. Modern pantomime is usually based on a well-known fairy tale, book or movie. It remains very traditional in nature and includes songs, slapstick comedy and dancing. It also employs gender-crossing actors and combines this with topical humour. It is a participatory form of theatre in which the audience is expected to sing along and shout out phrases to the performers.
This year it is Robin Hood - Men in Tights January 15, 16 and 17 2016 at the Westbury theatre, ATB Financial Arts Barns in Edmonton.
There are 4 performances to choose from, 15th at 7pm, 16th at 2pm and 7pm and 17th at 2pm.
Wyvern Players is a new theatrical company in the Edmonton area and this, our first production, is being presented in partnership with Alberta St George of England Society.
