Portland Food Adventures and ChefStable invite you to experience a once-in-a-lifetime event! Eater's current Chef of the Year and otherwise highly celebrated chef Greg Denton and his talented wife Gabrielle, who rose to the top of the Portland culinary world at Metrovino, welcome you to enjoy their first night ever at their own restaurant, Ox. Enjoy a paired minimum six-course dinner, tip and adventure discussion. This special private VIP event is truly an opportunity you will not want to miss.
Excerpted from the Oregonian: "It's a dream of every chef to own their own restaurant," Denton said. "And I've been in this business since I was basically nine years old."
"The concept at Ox is rooted in the grilling traditions of Argentina and the Mediterranean countries from which many of its inhabitants hail. The restaurant will feature an Argentine-style wood-burning grill in the dining room, as well as a full bar and wine program," Denton said. "Gabrielle and I both have the passion for grilling. There's a certain flavor when grilling foods that just can't be compared, and you can take the simplest things and just make them taste incredible."
Ox Restaurant will open in the former Echo restaurant space, 2225 N.E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. with seating for about 70 people. That includes plans for a ring of bar seats with great sight-lines of a large, centrally placed grill and 20 seats in a back patio.
Denton and Quiñonez-Denton met while cooking for chef Hiro Sone at Terra restaurant in St. Helena, Calif. After cooking in Maui for five years from 2002 to late 2007, the couple moved to Portland.

As with all Portland Food Adventures experiences, Greg and Gabrielle will interact with 30 fortunate first-ever customers and showcase their wonderful personalities as a complement to their cuisine. They will also share some of their favorite Portland hangs, and everyone will leave with gift certificates to try them.
