Independent Film Finance Strategies
This workshop is designed to give emerging filmmakers a broad understanding of how independent feature films are funded. It is essential that filmmakers have a solid Financing Plan in place before starting to raise financing for the film. Since every film is different you must explore the various avenues of film financing and determine which ones are appropriate for your film. In this workshop, we will start by looking at Private Equity and the issues related to investor financing. Next, we will explore State Tax Incentives and the difference between tax credits and cash rebates. Then we will look at the elements you need in place to take advantage of Presales and how to monetize Presales. And finally, we will discuss when to use and how to maximize your Crowd Funding campaign.
