Joyce Andersen and Dave Mattacks concert
The newly opened Castle on Charles presents an evening with Joyce Andersen and legendary musician Dave Mattacks.
Andersen, a soulful singer/songwriter, is a shape shifting, genre defying violinist and guitar player.

Her influences range from bluegrass to blues, the mountain singing of Ralph Stanley, jazz standards, gospel, ballads and blistering rock & roll.  "Her beautiful, expressive singing matches her playing and artistry on violin and viola that combines bowed, plucked and strummed techniques" said CT concert.  "She could sit in with Bob Dylan, Bela Fleck, The Chieftains, Loretta Lynn, or Led Zepellin"

Joyce's beautiful, expressive singing matches her playing artistry on violin and viola and that combines bowed, plucked and strummed techniques.  Andersen is known for her dynamic and stylistic range from achy ballads to searing Jimi Hendrix covers.

The concert at The Castle on Charles in Rochester NH is a new chance to see Andersen pushing the boundaries even more in a rare collaboration with the inimitable drummer Dave Mattacks (Paul McCartney, Jethro Tull, Elton John).   Mattacks is a history making English folk rock drummer who also recorded & toured with Richard Thomson, Jimmy Page, Jackson Browne, Cat Stevens, Mary Chapin Carpenter and other int'l acts, and was with George Harrison when the news of John Lennon's murder came through.

Joyce Andersen and Mattacks live performances together are both polished and wild, with plenty of surprises from both. Andersen and DM have made several records together including "Love & Thirst," Joyce's third album.

Tickets for preferred seating (cabaret style tables) are $12 in advance, with general admission seats available at the door if available for a $10 suggested donation.  Doors open at 6pm with light food and drink in the Castle's tavern.  A show opener, Brian Munger, will perform acoustic songs prior to Andersen and Mattacks who take the stage from 8 to 11pm.

The Castle on Charles is located at 47 Charles Street in Rochester, with extra parking at the nearby Rochester Public Library.  More information about the venue as well as upcoming concerts, dances, and dinner shows may be seen at www.CastleNH.com
