Symphony Serenade Presents Count Yourself Silly
Join Miss Allison, Chadd, Stacey and Michael on a Counting Adventure in the Jungle! We'll sail down the coast and up the Amazon with a pirate song bounce to the deepest darkest heart of the jungle to count- There are so many things to count in the jungle- iguanas and monkeys and red parrots and cows. Wait a minute, Cows? Why are there cows in the JUNGLE? Could it have something to do with the Story Fairy? She's back! With her wand, and all her tricky tricks, demanding a story be told, and a lullaby sung! See Michael transformed into a Crocodile. See Stacey cry and blow her nose (it's the funniest thing ever) See Chadd at the piano - his virtuso self in full glory. See the Story Fairy demand that it's time for Once Upon A time and..see Miss Allison try and manage all these goofballs and roll them together to make a rip-roaringly good show for you and your children!
October 24th 10:00am at Lake Washington Performing Arts Center.
There will be cookies for take home after the show, and your child is welcome- and encouraged- to wear their Halloween costumes. (You should get your money's worth out of them) And Miss Allison needs some help deciding what to be for Halloween so maybe you can inspire her!
Our mission: Our goal is to provide children and their grown-ups with high quality, professional theatrical events with a teaching purpose. Childhood development and music education abound in our shows and we promise you grown-ups will learn something too. And it will be painless and you'll laugh while you do it!
Count Yourself Silly focuses on traditional counting songs and one to one ratio counting. There is almost always a focus on language development in counting songs. Through the use of repetitive hand gestures, simple lyrics that are easy to learn and rhyming words, these songs teach language structure and vocabulary. Melodic structures in counting songs also lend themselves to the beginning singers voice. Using an octave, or less, without complicated melodic patterns or tricky accidentals, they are easy and fun to sing. Everyone is welcome in the counting song singing circle, regardless of their skill level.
