Jaw Gems, Ro Sham Beaux
Local-powerhouse of soul, jazz and hip-hop experimentation Jaw Gems bring their compelling live set to SPACE for the first time. They'll be joined by sax-led indie jazz quartet Ro Sham Beaux, whose sonic explorations frequently cross into rock territory, shifting genres with the same ease they switch tempos. The Boston group's self-titled 2011 release clearly reflects their prestigious New England Conservatory jazz training, but also their love of indie favorites Deerhoof and The Dirty Projectors. Raucous, distorted breakdowns, ethereal flourishes, and a pop sensibility pervade.
