Science: David George Haskell: The Forest Unseen
David George Haskell visited a one-square meter patch of old-growth Tenessee forest for a year to find this story. And the story - which he tells in The Forest Unseen - is the story of the entire natural world. The acclaimed biologist and poet brings the forest and its inhabitants to life as he teases out the intricate relationships between creatures and plants, describing the ecosystems that have cycled for thousands - sometimes millions - of years. Presented as part of Seattle Science Lectures, with Pacific Science Center and University Book Store. Series sponsored by Microsoft. Series media sponsorship provided by KPLU. Ticket also gains admission to the UW Science Now event at 6 pm.
