Written and Performed by Doug Knott Directed by Eric Trules Produced by Spoken Word Festival
Selected "BEST OF THE FEST" of the 2011 Hollywood Fringe Festival, LAST OF THE KNOTTS is a 1 man comi-tragedy and the story of poet-hipster, Doug Knott's irreverent and comic battle with becoming a father... or Knott! After putting up with a lifetime's worth of pain from ...his own redneck Judge of a Dad, Doug promises himself and his old man to be "the last of the Knotts" until... he falls in love with a beautiful woman with a Snake... and "one of his sperm clings to a lifeboat inside her". The show is also pregnant with laughs, squirms, and the comic and painful truth of life!
TESTAMONIALS: "Doug Knott is a true original whose unique and unpredictable prose flows trippingly off his tongue. Director Eric Trules targets Knott's intense energy on the bull's eye." -John Fleck, Solo Performance Artist, 1 of the infamous "NEA 4"
"Knott unravels his twisted heart with beauty, honesty and guts. Insightful writing and directing." -Michael Arabian, LA Theater Director, "Waiting for Godot", Mark Taper Forum, March, 2012
"Doug Knott, in his wonderfully written and directed solo show, 'The Last of The Knotts', allowed me a peek into the secret life of men... or at least into this man and his journey through tragi-comic family drama and joyful realization. Poetic, honest and funny!" -Eve Brandstein, Producer of "Poetry in Motion"
