"RESTART"
Drybones Artist Collective has created a dance show dealing with the complexities of addiction and the journey toward healing. Featuring the choreography of Megan Becker, Katy Hagelin, Angela Robinson, and Victoria Gutierrez, each choreographer has taken this theme and created a piece using their own unique dance style.
For this show we've partnered with the Recovery Cafe: a "recovery support center utilizing a therapeutic community model to support women and men who are seeking a life of transformation, free from drugs, alcohol and other addictions." (www.recoverycafe.org). We will be giving 25% of all the money we make off ticket sales to the Recovery Cafe and showcase 10 pieces of art created by members of their community at our show.
Shoreline Community College is sponsoring our show and the Seattle Office of Arts and Cultures is partially funding the show though their smart ventures grant.
Using the medium of dance, we hope this show will create understanding and compassion for those who struggle with addiction. Many things in life cannot be put into words and so we use dance to communicate those things that lay deep beneath the surface.
*Free tickets are available for those struggling financially. Please email us at contact@drybonescollective.org for more info."
