Global Panorama line-up for April 14, 2012:
LUNA directed by Donna Brockopp (7 min, Canada, 2011) A five minute film noir animated short, Luna depicts the flirtatious dance between a charming and debonair caterpillar (Silky) and the stunning and graceful moth (Luna). Is their story one of unrequited love at first sight, or will their true feelings overcome the powerful attraction of another suitor?
A SENIOR MOMENT directed by Michelle Davidson (6 min, USA, 2012) An older woman texts for the first time and learns you're never too old to LOL.
THE MAN WITH THE STOLEN HEART directed by Charlotte Boulay-Goldsmith (7 min, United Kingdom, 2011) A surreal tale about a man who wakes up one day only to discover his heart has left. This forces him on a journey of self-discovery as he tries to find his heart. Narrated by Bill Nighy.
FROM HER TO ETERNITY directed by Kondo Reiko (15 min, Japan, 2011) A French guy and a Japanese Girl meet in a dream. Beyond culture, language and gaps in time, they could be lovers for eternity.
BUBBLES directed by Dalia Schlesinger (10 min, Israel, 2010) The film takes place on a sultry night in Tel Aviv night, the kind that has become a tiring routine. Shira, a woman in her early thirties, is forced to face her inner turmoil and resolve her long lasting conflicts. While waiting for her husband to return from a business trip abroad, she has to take a pregnancy test that will force her to make a choice between two men.
AMORES CIEGOS (LOVE, INTERTWINED) directed by Marisé Samitier (24 min, Spain, 2010) Marta, who is trying but can't get pregnant, is married to Julio who's having an affair with Mila, Marta's sister. The three of them live in secret until Fernando, Julio's brother and Mila's ex-husband, with whom he has a kid, comes back from a long trip and the lives of all four turn around.
STATIC directed by Mel Miskell (11 min, Australia, 2011) Sia has returned home in an emotional twilight, paralyzed by a secret she can't confront. When a friend from the past arrives through their reconnection she is able to find solace and an equilibrium.
