Saturday Comedy Showcase featuring Counter Productive Lover
Starting March 3rd, Counter Productive Lover will headline the Saturday Night showcase at CIC, replacing Rainbow Deli as the Saturday night mainstay. The Saturday Night showcase is the signature show at CIC, a BYOB theatre in Lakeview. Each week, Counter Productive Lover (CPL) will be joined by a rotating line-up of teams comprised of some of the funniest people in Chicago.
For the past four years, Counter Productive Lover has been hitting stages in Chicago and festivals around the country with their wickedly smart improvisation. Running the gamut from perverse to intellectual, Counter Productive Lover takes a single suggestion and weaves a sideways world where they wear hats on their feet and hamburgers eat people. A house ensemble of Chemically Imbalanced Comedy since 2007, CPL consists of veteran performers who have been trained at The Second City, iO Chicago, and The Annoyance. CPL likes its improv scenes the way it likes its coffee: nutty and dark. And kind of foamy. And made by a machine. With an oaky finish.
