Whidbey Island Dance Theatre's 23rd season of The Nutcracker is sure to delight the whole family. Our production features many of the beloved characters and themes that are traditional with this classic holiday ballet. However, we wouldn't do our Whidbey Island Community justice if we didn't add our own "twist" to this production. Come join us as Clara and the Nutcracker Prince travel through a world of mermaids dancing and swinging on ropes of seaweed in their magical underwater world. Then travel to the enchanted forest where we meet our majestic Forest King and Queen. Our beautiful flowers will have you in awe of their grace and elegance. Of course, who could forget Madame Bumble who introduces us to some of the most adorable critters we have ever seen. We take pride in "standing out" from many other Nutcrackers while providing phenomenal dancing and choreography. Many of our patrons have made this show a holiday tradition and we invite you to do the same. This year we are proud to introduce new choreography from local Islander, Brittany Falso, one of WIDT's new assistant directors. If you have enjoyed our productions before, we assure you this is one that can't be missed!

Join us for our second Friday evening performance for "Ugly Christmas Sweater Night". If you do NOT pre-order your tickets for this performance, worry not, just wear your "ugly" Christmas sweater and you will receive the pre-order price (as seen above). Already pre-ordered your tickets? That's okay, we want to see the "ugliest" (or most adorable) Christmas sweater you own! We invite everybody to join in the fun on Friday, December 18th! Prizes will be awarded for 'best' Christmas sweater!
CHARACTER BRUNCH! Sunday, Dec 13th from 12:00 to 1:30pm
For one performance only enjoy a delightful holiday brunch at the show prior to attending the performance. Clara and other whimsical characters will be available for pictures as you enjoy a delicious hot brunch lovingly prepared by Chef Christyn Johnson, Executive Chef of the Whidbey Institute and www.RawIndulgence.kitchen. The entire Nutcracker Character Brunch has been donated so your full purchase price goes to support Whidbey Island Dance Theatre. Bring the whole family and make it a magical day.
