Emmaus Counseling Center is presenting a workshop intended to challenge churches to recognize their role in addressing mental health and mental illness, acknowledge and begin to address the stigma associated with mental illness, and provide information about community resources and training. The event is presented in cooperation with Lourdes Counseling Center, NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness), Tri-Cities Bridge Building Coalition, and a Three Rivers Community Foundation grant.
We are inviting pastors and church leaders, small group leaders, those involved in congregational care, those interested in reducing the stigma associated with mental illness and anyone who has experienced mental illness themselves or that of a family member or friend. The day will address: The Role of the Church in Mental Health; Wholeness - Integrating Physical, Spiritual and Mental Health; Identifying When You Need To Get Help; What Resources Are Available; and will feature a client sharing their personal journey with mental illness.
A complimentary Clergy Appreciation Breakfast will be held before the General Sessions for Pastors.
