Femikaze
As the East Bay's premiere all-female comedy team, Femikaze brings the finest in pro-feminist, pro-funny sketch comedy, mining laughs from popular culture, politics and the quirks of being female in contemporary America.
Founded in 2011 by Kelly Anneken and Isa Hopkins, Femikaze creates opportunities in comedy for ladies of all shapes, sizes, ethnicities and orientations. After a run with "Comedy Brains" (Winner, "Best Comedy Show Remix," East Bay Express) and San Francisco's "A Funny Night for Comedy," Femikaze sold out their October show, Night of the Living Femikaze. The newly minted non-profit is thrilled to return to Berkeley's Subterranean Arthouse this March.
Femikaze boasts an all-star roster of Bay Area comedy favorites, including Kay-c Allen, Therese Garcia, Erin Loftus, Kirsten Macauley, Natasha Muse, Evangeline Reilly, Carinne Salnave, and Ellen Westberg.
Sketches in "Femikaze History Month" take" Little House on the Prairie" into outer space, show off Butterfly McQueen's flawless sense of humor, reveal the secret of Marie Curie's success, and introduce television's most offensive game show. The show includes performances from up-and-coming standup comedians Reyna Amaya, Lydia Popovich, Kristee Ono, and Caitlin Gill, plus a visit from the elusive Zombie Sojourner Truth!
Don't miss this hilarious trip through history! 4 nights onlyMarch 23, 24, 30 & 31 at 9 PM, with a Femikaze Fun Bucket raffled off at every show!
Admission is $10.
