Northwest Cider Association Cidermaker's Dinner at Clarklewis
Northwest Cider Association Cidermaker's Dinner at Clarklewis. Seattle's popular cider-themed evening hits PDX for the first time.
Craft cider, made with traditional methods and heirloom apple varieties, is a deliciously historic beverage that's making a remarkable comeback in the Pacific Northwest. Created just over a year ago, the Northwest Cider Association currently boasts 17 member cideries spread across the region. Portland's first annual Cidermaker's Dinner offers PDX residents a remarkable opportunity to taste many of their beverages, while learning about the cider process from orchard to glass.
The first hour of the event will feature a casual passing of appetizers to be enjoyed with two ciders from member cideries. Many cidermakers will be on hand to answer questions and share information about their orchards and forthcoming ciders. Then, guests will sit down to a four-course meal prepared by Chef Dolan Lane, with each course paired with two different Northwest artisanal ciders and featuring cider as a component of the dish.
The dinner is scheduled for April 4, 2012, from 6pm-10pm, at Clarklewis (1001 SE Water Avenue, Portland). Cost for the evening, including all pairings, tax and gratuity is $80 for members of the Northwest Cider Association and $85 for non-members. Tickets are available by clicking the "Reserve your spot now" link, and in person at Clarklewis.
Since 2003, Glarklewis has been the standard-bearer for the farm-to-table food movement in Portland. The philosophy has been rigorously maintained by Bruce Carey and Chef Dolan Lane since they took over operation in 2007. They create delicious hand-crafted Northwest cuisine with Italian and French influences, and proudly support local, organic farms. www.clarklewispdx.com Reserve your spot now!
