Little Brown Brother
Little Brown Brother has been performing regularly in the Bay Area since it was formed in 2006 and has been featured at many different concerts, events, and nightclubs. Its members are Ben Luis on bass, vocals; Carlos Zialcita on harmonica, vocals; Chris Planas on guitar, vocals; Mio "Timbalero" Flores on congas, percussion; Rey Cristobal on piano; and Carlton Carey on drums. Vocalist Myrna Del Rio joins them for this performance and has been a featured artist at the Cadillac Hotel Concert Series, the People in the Plazas Concert Series, and at Yoshi's Oakland in March 2011. Ron Quesada and Kulintronica features a high-tech fusion of traditional Filipino music on the Kulintang gongs from the Southern region of the Philippines known as Mindanao along with modern guitar sounds.
We invite you to support La Peña, its cultural programs, and its promotion of live music in the East Bay as well as the on-going performances by Little Brown Brother, a band dedicated to preserving and celebrating Filipino American jazz in the SF Bay Area and beyond.
