Salute to Virginia Distilling Dinner
"Vast mountain silences and endless meadows pierced by broad and powerful rivers, all emptying into the biggest, most complex bay system in the country. And yet, the occasional ham excepted, it has never gotten its proper due. It's time. The Old Dominion has seemingly overnight exploded into one of the country's greatest gastro regions." ~ Esquire Magazine on Virginia
As Virginia's distilling industry grows, seven of Virginia's young rising star chefs have teamed up with 5 important Virginia distilleries to raise a glass to the harmony between these artful industries and benefitting Farm Aid, a charitable organization working to preserve the livelihood of family farms at the Salute to Virginia Distilling event on October 22, 2015. An epic convergence of the most creative young talents in Virginia's culinary industry and the craftsman driving the Virginia distilling industry, this event will feature a master distiller tasting reception by Stefan Trummer followed by seven-courses of creative fare representing the saluting these distillers with artfully prepared dishes representing the bounty of the Virginia agricultural landscape.
